Guided Walking Tour: Old Town and Fortress Marienberg
Starting at Würzburg's landmark, Marienberg Fortress, this guided walking tour lets you experience the vast fortress complex, the Marienkirche, a round church that is one of the oldest churches in Germany, and the Renaissance temple above a 104 meter deep well. The Fürstengarten (open from April through October) offers one of the best panoramic views of the town below. Afterwards you stroll through the Old Town of Würzburg and explore a number of great sights: The Gothic Marienkapelle and its sandstone sculptures by Tilman Riemenschneider, the Falkenhaus and its magnificent Rococo façade, the Romanesque Kiliansdom and the historical town hall. The tour concludes with a view from the Alte Mainbrücke to Fortress Marienberg and the surrounding vinyards.

UNESCO World Heritage Site Residence Palace
Balthasar Neumann built the Residence Palace at the beginning of the 18th century. It was officially declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981. The guided tour starts from the Garden Hall and takes you to the manificent grand staircase with the breathtaking frescos by the Venetian artist Tiepolo. Then wander through the White Hall with the beautiful stuccowork by Antonio Bossi to the Imperial Hall. From there you visit the Baroque, southerly imperial rooms and the glorious mirror cabinet.
