Tour description:
The journey begins at 10.35 a.m. at the Würzburg bus station, bus platform 12. The journey leads from the university town of Würzburg to the Tauber Valley. A glass of Secco is served to welcome and set the mood in the "Ochsenfurter Gau". Three wine-growing regions meet near Bad Mergentheim and Markelsheim: Baden, Württemberg and Franconia. Passing the sunny vineyards, the landmarks of the town of Weikersheim come into view, the Renaissance palace and the baroque garden. A guide in historical costume awaits the guests at the historic market square (opportunity for a special tour). Enjoy a glass of wine along the way, either Silvaner or Müller-Thurgau. Around midday, the silhouette of Rothenburg ob der Tauber appears: highlights are the town wall that can be walked on, the historic market square with the town hall, the Gothic parish church of St. Jakob and the Plönlein, the most popular photo motif in the medieval town. On the way back, a glass of "Tauberschwarz" will be tasted. This wine is only available here on the Romantic Road. Return to Würzburg at 5.40 p.m. at the Residenz, UNESCO World Heritage Site and starting point of the Romantic Road. or at 6 p.m. at the bus station.
