The former Victorian seaside resort Bray, with approximately 32,000 inhabitants, situated directly south of Dublin, is considered the gateway to the "Garden of Ireland", County Wicklow.

 In addition to the beautiful vast beaches along the coast line and the famous varied mountainous area, Wicklow offers beautiful gardens and parks as well as the world-famous monastery Glendalough in the valley of the two lakes, which was founded in the 6th century by Saint Kevin. 25 golf courses have international clientele.

The people of County Wicklow like to travel - many of them have visited Würzburg and its surroundings in recent years. They keep bringing the Irish spirit with them and always leave us with a growing curiosity about our Irish partner region.

Ancienne plage victorienne et située au sud de Dublin, la ville de Bray, avec ses 32 000 habitants, est connue pour être la porte d´entrée du « Jardin de l´ Irlande » : le Comté de Wicklow. En plus de ses célèbres étendues de plage le long des côtes et de ses paysages montagneux aux profils variés et oniriques, Wicklow offre de magnifiques jardins et parcs ainsi que Glendalough, lieu monastique mondialement connu, fondé au 6è siècle par St Kevin dans la gorge des deux lacs. Les 25 terrains de golf sont fréquentés par une clientèle internationale.

Les habitants du Comté de Wicklow aiment voyager. Beaucoup d´entre eux ont visité Würzburg et ses environs au cours des dernières années, y ont apporté leur joie de vivre et ne cessent d´éveiller en nous une curiosité grandissante pour notre région jumelle en Irlande.
